What is the Message Board?
The terms "Message Board" and "Forum" currently used on Planet-Tolkien.com are interchangeable until we have decided which term best defines those areas of the site.
For those of you who have used forums or news-boards before, there will be little here that is new to you, but for those of you who have not used them before, hopefully this section will prove to be both a useful tool for gathering information and also a way of making virtual friends who share your interest in the works of Tolkien.
If you have never used a forum like this before, do not worry, the principle is very simple. Contained within the pages of the forum are dozens of subjects. Members wishing to express their views on any of the subjects may do so by adding a post to the bottom of a list. Their post will then remain there for everyone else to read, and given time other members may reply to this post by posting their own comments below it. In this way, we share our views and interests with hundreds of other like minded people.
Please remember that we are a family site, however, and bearing in mind your posts will be on view to anyone who opens them, please respect our policy of keeping all posts free of foul language or anything that might cause offence to other members.
